Finding Balance is an Act of Self-Care

Some days you soar, and others sink. This is Bipolar Disorder. It can bring unstable mood swings, fluctuating between extreme highs and deep lows. During the high phase, a person may feel unusually energetic, talkative, confident, or need little sleep. In contrast, during the low phase, they may feel deeply sad, tired, withdrawn, or lose interest in activities they once enjoyed. These emotional shifts can affect relationships, work, and daily functioning, making life feel unpredictable for both the individual and their loved ones.

At Sukoon, we help individuals with Bipolar Disorder take steady steps toward stability and hope. Our team offers personalised and compassionate care, walking beside each person through every phase of their recovery journey.

Types of Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar Disorder has two main types, based on the pattern and intensity of mood changes a person experiences.

- Bipolar I Disorder: Involves episodes of mania, periods of extremely high energy, confidence, or impulsive behaviour that may disrupt daily life. These highs often alternate with depressive episodes, where the person feels very low or withdrawn.

- Bipolar II Disorder: Features hypomania, a milder form of mania where energy and activity levels rise but do not cause major disruption, along with longer and more intense depressive episodes.

Are you facing these Bipolar Disorder Symptoms?

Bipolar I Disorder

Bipolar I involves manic, hypomanic, and depressive episodes.
1) Manic Episodes: Periods of extremely high energy, excitement, or irritability. The person may talk rapidly, need little sleep, or engage in risky behaviours.
2) Hypomanic Episodes: Similar to mania but milder and shorter, with increased activity, confidence, and productivity.
3) Depressive Episodes: Phases of deep sadness, low energy, poor concentration, and loss of interest in daily activities.

Bipolar II Disorder

Bipolar II involves hypomanic and depressive episodes, without full-blown mania.
1) Hypomanic Episodes: Elevated or irritable mood, increased energy, and restlessness, yet still able to function in daily life.
2) Depressive Episodes: Longer-lasting periods of fatigue, hopelessness, excessive sleep, and difficulty focusing or managing daily tasks.

Being kind to yourself creates space for change.

Stories of Hope

Hear from those finding strength with our Bipolar Disorder Treatment

Aarav Reddy

Before Sukoon, I’d swing from sleepless, high-energy nights to mornings heavy with hopelessness. I kinda thought it was my strength to function like this. However, as a software engineer, those unpredictable shifts began affecting my work and my sense of stability. Their A2R+ model helped me understand my highs and lows and rebuild steadier routines. Recovery no longer felt out of reach; it became something real, shaped by patient, structured care.

Inpatient Psychiatry in India is always equated to an asylum kind of care but I have seen Sukoon and met with the founders, and their vision seems to be very aligned to what a lot of our patients want and what our families want.
